Michael McArthur serves as the dedicated Nursing Supervisor at Laguna View Detox, where he manages the nursing department, overseeing all medical staff and client care operations. His role involves a daily commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care and coordination among the medical team.
Michael’s journey into nursing was deeply personal, inspired by his father’s nearly fatal heart attack. The compassion and hope provided by the nurses during that critical time left a profound impact on him, leading him to pursue a career where he could offer the same support and comfort to others. He graduated from CNI College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and has plans to further his education with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Working at Laguna View Detox is more than just a job for Michael; it’s an opportunity to witness and contribute to the growth of clients within the facility. He values the client-focused approach of the staff, which creates a motivating and enjoyable work environment. Michael is driven by a desire to serve Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Behavioral Health populations, recognizing them as underserved and stigmatized groups. He is passionate about being at the forefront of reducing stigma and facilitating recovery.
Professionally, Michael is committed to leveraging scientific and technological advancements to enhance patient care. His passion for his work is matched by his personal interests, which include his family, his own recovery journey, and, of course, his enthusiasm for the Los Angeles Lakers. In every aspect of his life, Michael embodies a dedication to improvement, support, and compassion.
